Psycho-affective disorders and difficulties of institutional adaptation of the children of the Orphanage ‘’Le Bon Samaritain ‘’ of Niamey

Résumé

Cet article attire l’attention sur l’interférence de troubles psychoaffectifs dans l’adaptation au placement institutionnel chez les enfants de l’Orphelinat « Le Bon Samaritain » de Niamey. Pour recueillir les données se rapportant à cette allégation, nous avons utilisé la méthode d’étude de cas (Pedinielli et Fernandez, 2015) principalement articulée sur l’analyse de contenu de 29 protocoles du « Test du Dessin de Famille » que nous avons administré aux participants à l’étude dont la sélection s’était déroulée selon la procédure du choix raisonné. Ainsi, ce dispositif nous a permis de conforter l’hypothèse principale de la recherche d’après laquelle des troubles psychoaffectifs contrarient l’adaptation institutionnelle des enfants de l’Orphelinat « Le Bon Samaritain » de Niamey. En outre, la conceptualisation psychanalytique se rapportant à la problématique de la survenue de troubles affectifs chez l’enfant a constitué la toile de fond du repérage métapsychologique sur lequel s’est appuyée l’interprétation des protocoles du test de dessin de famille recueillis dans le cadre de notre enquête de terrain.

Abstract

This article draws attention to the interference of psychoaffective disorders in the adaptation to institutional placement among children from ’’Le Bon Samaritain’’ Orphanage in Niamey. To collect the data relating to this allegation, we used the case study method (Pedinielli and Fernandez, 2015) mainly articulated on the content analysis of 29 protocols of the ‘’Family Drawing Test’’ that we administered to the participants whose selection was carried out according to the reasoned choice procedure. Thus, this device allowed us to reinforce the main hypothesis of the research according to which psychoaffective disorders thwart the institutional adaptation of children from ‘’Le Bon Samaritain’’ Orphanage in Niamey. In addition, the psychoanalytical conceptualization relating to the problem of the occurrence of affective disorders in children constituted the backdrop of the metapsychological identification on which the interpretation of the family drawing test collected in the part of our field survey.
